Walk the journey with us as we build a contemporary, environmentally-friendly house in the
City of Falls Church, Virginia.
"Erdhaus" is German for "earth house" which represents one of the coolest aspects of the home -- we're using the dirt from the property to create compressed earth bricks, which become the exterior walls of the house.
Congrats (and we even got to see some of the finished/furnished look of the inside of the house!).
ReplyDeleteToo bad they mis-stated panels on roof, vs panels to shade the lower windows/doors.
Here's the direct link to the video (not just their main page with current top story): http://cfc.news8.net/videoondemand.cfm?id=63225
Ps. i'm on the organizing committee for DC solar homes tour. Are you interested in being on this year? (we're always lacking in passive solar homes).
Nice! I'm glad I got to see a bit of it! (and you!)
ReplyDeleteThank you for providing that link, Sat Jiwan. Sorry for the delay in responding to your comment!
ReplyDeleteOn my to-do list for the past month has been the application for the Solar Homes tour. I just completed it and will email you a copy of the application.
